Phoenix Faux Painting

Faux Finisher Painter

This homeowner had seen a photograph in a magazine of a white stone wall. She was looking for a design based on that look but with a blue mortar in the pattern. She was able to do a small watercolor sketch (pictured at the bottom of this page) and working with her we were able to create a series on sample boards that she liked even more than her original idea.

Phoenix area faux finishers are known for giving low initial prices only to raise them for the final bill.

Beware of unlicensed faux finishers. We are fully licensed and answer to the state Register of Contractors. So you can be assured that the prices given during the initial consultation will remain unchanged unless additional work is added.

Another mistake many contractors make is not knowing the importance of proper preparation of the surface. If a price for painting seems too low to be true be sure to ask what sort of preparation the contractor is planning on. Without proper preparation and priming it does not matter how good the final project looks it may not last.

Also be sure any faux finish contractor you hire shows you full sized samples before any work is begun in your home. A common ploy in this area is for a faux finisher to begin work in a clients home only to fall short of the look the home owner was looking for then charging extra. Make sure you hire someone that can show experience for the work you are wanting.

Hiring a licensed contractor means the people who work in your home must pass requirements and the work you receive is insured and held to a higher level of standards than unlicensed contractors. The prices other faux finishers offer may be lower but be sure to ask for their Arizona ROC license number. In the past few years in Arizona there has been a large amount of unlicensed contractors doing incompetent or incomplete work and closing shop or leaving the state. If you hire a licensed contractor any disputes or losses can be recouped even if the contractor leaves the state of Arizona.
